Moving On ...

Still got the blues

Words & music: Denny R. Snyder

Well I ain’t got any real trouble
But I still got the blues
And I ain’t got any more bad habits
But I still got the blues
Yes I tried to change it all
But the blues is something I just can’t lose

I make more money than ever
And still my pockets are bare
They say this economy is booming
So tell me where is my fair share
That’s why I don’t have any real trouble
But I still got the blues
Well I tried to change it all
But the blues is something I just can’t lose

All you people watching T.V.
You get nothing but a lot of bad news
All that violence and killing
You’ve got to stand up, think and choose
Take a look out your window
And tell me what do you see?
Big brother don’t care about your schools
Or the people walkin’ in your streets

That’s why ain’t got any real trouble…

You're Gonna Need Somebody

Words & music: Denny R. Snyder

It doesn’t really matter what you say or do
You’re gonna need somebody by your side to help you through
You’re gonna need somebody
You’re gonna need somebody
You’re gonna need somebody baby
‘cause it’s not so hard when you fall

Yes it’s true two heads are better than one
You’ll get more accomplished and you’ll have twice the fun
You’re gonna need somebody
You’re gonna need somebody
You’re gonna need somebody baby
‘cause it’s not so hard when you fall

I tried to go alone for a long, long time
But I didn’t like the weight and neither did my mind
And then it hit me like a great big light
When you find true love it makes everything alright

So don’t you worry for a minute baby,
Just let nature take its course
When you’re ready for it you know you’ll find the source
You’re gonna need somebody
You’re gonna need somebody
You’re gonna need somebody baby
‘cause it’s not so hard when you fall

Hey, Pretty Baby!

Words & music: Denny R. Snyder

I said: Hey Petty Baby!
I’m sure we’re gonna meet again
I said: Hey Petty Baby!
I’m sure we’re gonna meet again
When I sae you last night
Everything seemed right
I don’t want to wait too long
Cause sometimes a fire can die
So Hey, Pretty Baby!
I’m sure we’re gonna meet again.

Won’t you come on up with me for some tea?
I can’t stand to hear you say you have to leave
Well we can walk out in the rain
Or we can catch the next train
I really do believe
That you’re feelin’ just the same
So Hey, Pretty Baby!
I’m sure we’re gonna meet again.

I guess you heard the signals I was tryin’ to send
How was I to know that our new life was to begin
When I first met you
I knew it was the real deal
And it didn’t take very long to find
That’s exactly how you feel
So Hey, Pretty Baby!
I’m sure we’re gonna meet again.

Hey, Pretty Baby!
I’m sure we’re gonna meet again.
I said: Hey, Pretty Baby!
I’m sure we’re gonna meet again.
Well, I was pretty frightened
When those feelings began to start
But now we’re still here together
‘Cause we played it straight from the heart
So Hey, Pretty Baby!
I’m sure we’re gonna meet again.

Mr. Knowitall

Words by Denny R. Snyder & Josée Larose
Music by Denny R. Snyder

Well no one, no one knows
No one knows like you
That’s why you’re Mr. Knowitall
And you’re givin’ me the blues

Well he’s always got a reason
He’s always got a line
His way is always better
And it’s always right on time
He’s always got the last word
No matter what you say
Yeah, he has all the answers
Any time night or day

Well you paint a pretty picture
Talkin’ all that cash
But the way I’m starting to see things
You’re just talkin’ trash
Mr. Knowitall, he will gladly bring you down
He’ll tell you that it’s blue
When you can clearly see it’s brown

Refrain

Now there you go on tellin’ me
Just what I ought to do
You ain’t never been there
And you’re never going to
Mr. Knowitall
Our hearts go out to you
‘Cause you can’t hurt anybody
Not unless of course they choose

Tell me, Mr Knowitall
Where do you get your knowledge from?
He must be some king of genius
Or a Californian
It sure took us a long time
To ignore all your wit
‘Cause now the truth is out
And we all know you’re full of shit

Refrain

Airport Age

Words & music: Denny R. Snyder

We’re livin’ in an airport age
Everybody’s got to be on the same page
We’re livin’ in an airport age
Everybody’s got to be on the same page
How fast can you get it, for how cheap
Don’t you know that down the line
There’s a chump who’ll pay

Airport delay-
You know I could drive there this fast
Well if I was a rich guy with a big cigar
They would move me right on 1st class
But a 3-day trip just ain’t near enough time
And their plastic cups wasn’t made for drinkin’ wine

I’ve got a house to buy
And I’ve got babies to feed
I’ve got another place for sale
My love I’m waiting to see
I’ve got bills I need to pay
And gigs I’m supposed to play
Well there’s people home waitin’ on me
And they’ve all got something to say

3 hours on Saturday
And 4 more Tuesday night
Trapped at this same airport
Last plane made me miss my flight
Don’t you know it’s so hard to keep control
When you deal with all those elements that’ve got no soul

I’ve got a house to buy
And I’ve got babies to feed
I’ve got another place for sale
My love I’m waiting to see
I’ve got bills I need to pay
And I’ve got gigs I’m supposed to play
There’s people home waitin’ on me
And they all got something to say

Wold-Wide Boogie

Words & music: Denny R. Snyder

Most times we stay round the Midwest
But it don’t matter where ‘cause we get no rest
When we boogie
Yeah, we do the world-wide boogie
Do the world-wild boogie, all night long

If you fell good & you like what we do
We’ll boogie all across your country too
‘cause we boogie
Yeah, we do the world-wide boogie
Do the world-wild boogie, all night long

Don’t matter a bit if you’re rich or you’re poor
As long as you’re groovin’ we’ll play some more
‘Cause we boogie
Yeah, we do the world-wide boogie
Do the world-wild boogie, all night long

It’s good for both the young and the old
It’s good for your heart and it’s good for your soul
When you boogie
If you do the world-wide boogie
You do the world wide boogie, all night long

Tri-lingual, bi-lingual, Americans too
It really don’t matter what tongue you choose
If you just boogie
If you do the world-wide boogie
You do the world wide boogie, all night long

Dirty Money

Words & music: Denny R. Snyder

We keep losing all our water
And killing off the air
Poison all the food
And then you trim the forest bare
Pollution, radiation, we’re puttin’ it everywhere
While the rich keep getting’ richer
But it’s you and I who pay the fare

You can’t drink with your money
You can’t breathe with it too
If you take a bath in it
Are you clean when you get through?

Well we fight for equal rights
And demand some self-respect
But what good will it do
When no necessities are left?
You think that there’s no slavery
We’re free here in this land
While you spend one third our your entire life
Punching the clock for the man

Refrain

Don’t repair the old things that work
Bash it down and make one new
Keep polluting ‘till we’re all instinct
Just like the dinosaurs did do
Who do you think will benefit
From all the material things you choose?
Drive in style and pollute your mind
If not us, our children lose

Refrain

Everything Was Fine

Words by Josée Larose & Denny R. Snyder
Music by Denny R. Snyder

Well everything was fine
‘Till my baby got pregnant again
Yes, everything was fine
‘Till my baby got pregnant again
‘cause we’re a double income family
We need a third but I don’t know when

Well everybody treats my baby
Like she’s got some rare disease
She was knockin’ down the big bucks,
But what’s after maternity leave
All those test and appointments
Are takin’ up too much time
‘Cause childbirth is a natural thing
- If the boss doesn’t mind

Refrain

Last night she told me, “ Oh dear look at me ”
You know I got so big I can’t even reach my feet!
Will my clothes still fit me when I go back to my job?
‘Cause you know everyone dresses well there and I can’t be looking like a slob

It seems crazy but she has to worry
For her job in a few months
‘Cause the woman who took her place,
She’s tenacious and tough
Will they want to deal with my new responsibility?
Like when the baby is cryin’ and needing me

Well everything was fine
‘Till my baby got pregnant again
Yes, everything was fine
‘Till my baby got pregnant again
‘Cause we’re a double income family
But either way it’s us who win

Movin' Blues

Words & music: Denny R. Snyder

Tired of looking for new a place
Just want to find my own space
This town moves too fast
That town move too slow
I’ve been looking for so long
I don’t know which way to go

This one costs too much
That one ain’t big enough
This one’s got no style
That one’s way too rough
If I don’t find something soon
Maybe I should just give up

I’ve got the movin’ blues
From my hair to my shoes
Won’t somebody point me in a direction I can use?

This one’s got no schools
That one’s got no rules
This one feels too sedate
That one doesn’t feel safe
I keep throwin’ out my line
I guess I need some better bait

I’ve got the movin’ blues
From my hair to my shoes
Won’t somebody point me in a direction I can use?

Soon something good will come around
Energy’s running all over town
It may sound crazy I know
If you don’t ask you stay real low
‘Cause we’ve made some big changes
And we need room to grow

I’ve got the movin’ blues
From my hair down to my shoes
Won’t somebody point me in a direction I can use?

Water

Words by Josée Larose & Denny R. Snyder
Music by Denny R. Snyder

I spoke with a fish
He said “ Listen to me!
You’ve nearly destroyed
Every inch of the sea.
The rivers are dirty,
The streams are a joke.
We can barely still breathe,
And we can’t see where we go.

So go sailin’ on the water, take a drink from this water,
Try livin’ in this water, and you’ll know just what I mean.”

So I took out a boat.
A few days passed by,
You wouldn’t believe
The things that caught my eye.
The shit from farms,
And the industrial waste,
The oil and the garbage
That all came from human haste.

It’s all killing off the water, it’s all stinking up the water,
It’s all poisoning the water and our lives everyday.
I hope all of you
Listen to my song.
Before it’s too late
And see the right from the wrong.
We’re all at fault here
For all of these deeds.
It’s past time to think,
We’ve got to change all our needs.

So we can swim in the water,
So we can drink all the water,
We can have fun in the water
And make it cleaner every day.

We want to swim in the water,
We want to drink all the water.
We want fun in the water
And make it cleaner every day.

It’s all killing off the water, it’s all stinking up the water,
It’s all poisoning the water and our lives everyday.

We can swim in the water,
We want to drink from the water,
We want to have fun in the water
And make it cleaner every day.

Take a drink from this water, go sailin’ on the water,
Try livin’ in this water and you’ll know what I mean.

‘Cause it’s all killing off the water,
It’s stinking up the water,
It’s poisoning the water and our lives every day.

Conscience Blues

Words by Josée Larose & Denny R. Snyder
Music by Denny R. Snyder

If you want to get along well in this world
Don’t you come from fear
‘Cause you’ll never reach the shore
You’ve got to have a conscience
Yes, you’ve got to have a conscience before you choose

When you find a friend in trouble
And on his way down
You can lend a helping hand
Or you can stand and let him drown

But it’s your conscience
Yes, it’s you conscience
That surely is gonna lose
You’ve got to have a conscience
And keep it on your side
You’ve got to have a conscience
About everything you do
You’ve got to have a conscience
If you want to heal your blues

You’ve got to have a conscience
To bring love into you life
You’ve got to have a conscience
To have peace in your heart
You’ve got to have a conscience
To transform all your fears
You’ve got to have a conscience
And go beyond your years
